Are you playing to win or playing not to lose?

If your business is not evolving, it may mean things are getting too easy for you – watch out, another company is going to sneak past you.

I can’t tell you how energizing it is to work with and around people who are ‘playing to win’ and not ‘playing not to lose’. I used to think that being conservative in an approach to growing a business was the best way to grow – slow and measured. Then I realized it was just an excuse for not doing a better job with growth.

Playing not to lose is having a bunch of unknowns in front of your business and chalking it up to ‘let’s not grow too fast’. What is really happening is a small fear that you are not going to be able to get up to that the next level is controlling your efforts that drive growth.

This fear is similar to the same small fear some of us may have experienced before we purchased our first home and were stretching the budget a bit – are we going to be able to make that payment!? Are we going to be able to put our money where our mouth is!?

Some people do not purchase a home they really want because of that fear. What is soon realized once you smash that fear is that the next level was not as bad as your fear might have led you to believe.

Keep pushing to your next level even though you might not know what is beyond where you are or if you can operate at that next level – go for it!

Nice web site, but you have an interesting way of ordering CoreConnex. With the lack of any pricing information, but the requirement of payment information, you are assuming every company at any interest level is ok with writing you a blank check in this challenging economic times. I would bet you cannot determine using your web site statics how many of your perspective clients don’t convert to a real sale. You may want to change how you present CoreConnex on your site. Again the site and information on the site is very good.

Thanks for the feedback on the site, in fact we are about ready to launch a new site. There are several items we are not satisfied with including how we price for services. Expect to see much more information on pricing and features for the package prices. Thanks again for your feedback. I’ll email you when we have the new site up.
